I'm voting for Barack Obama because:

he is optimistic.

he didn't support the costly war in Iraq.

he stands for the future and not the past.

he has the most experience of bringing people together, and not dividing them with bitter polarizing politics.

he symobolizes unity, both in physical terms, and in the way he works with and speaks to everyone.

he has a real and visible relationship with his wife and family.

he was a civil rights lawyer and not a corporate one.

he wants to do away with corporate lobbying in gov't.

he has a 100% environmental rating from the LCV.

he has pledged to defend animals, citing the way we treat them represents the way we treat each other.

he has worked with people as a community organizer, on the ground, at the grassroots level.

he knows what it's like to be a normal American coming from nothing and working your way up.

he is open-minded and thinks with a global mind.

he can answer a question directly, without giving you some rehearsed or run-around "political" response.

he has run a positive campaign.

he is the fresh face we need.

Come on, America, let's get it right this time.

See why I else I like this guy:

Barack for America

ON ANIMALS

Senator McCain supported the interests of the The Humane Society of the United States a lousy 25 percent in 2007.

While not perfect, Senator Obama represented animals 75% of the time in 2007 and he has pledged to defend animals.

Democrat Barack Obama says he won't just be a president for the American people, but the animals too.

"What about animal rights?" a woman shouted out during the candidate's town hall meeting outside Las Vegas Wednesday after he discussed issues that relate more to humans, like war, health care and the economy.

Obama responded that he cares about animal rights very much, "not only because I have a 9-year-old and 6-year-old who want a dog." He said he sponsored a bill to prevent horse slaughter in the Illinois state Senate and has been repeatedly endorsed by the Humane Society.

"I think how we treat our animals reflects how we treat each other," he said. "And it's very important that we have a president who is mindful of the cruelty that is perpetrated on animals."
